Thank you Gale Ramsey for coordinating the generous donations collected from West End Bank employees and customers in May for Birth to Five. Board President Keith Owens and Healthy Families Program Manager/Supervisor Vickie Grimme-Powell were happy to accept the donation on behalf of the agency.

Your investment in the well-being of the next generation allows us to help cultivate strong family foundations for children to grow up healthy and successful. Strong families give children a greater chance of becoming economically productive and engaged citizens. We appreciate your support!

Job Posting:

Are you looking for a career where you feel like you are making a difference in our community? According to an Indiana Infant Toddler Issue Brief Indiana has more children with a developmental delay than national averages but fewer children receive developmental screenings.

  • Do you want to work for a program that helps monitor that children reach developmental milestones? Do you think it is important to proactively share information on milestones and child safety with parents?
  • Do you want to demonstrate to families how to make stimulating toys from materials most families have in their homes?
  • Do you want to provide free children’s books to families and then coach families on reading and talking to children with more descriptive words to increase children’s intelligence and language skills?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you should consider applying to the Healthy Families program at Birth to Five as a Family Support Worker/Family Assessment Worker! This is a 40 hour a week, full-time home-visiting, caseworker position. This position requires experience serving culturally diverse families and child development knowledge. BA/BS in social work or a related field is preferred but candidates with at least some college experience will be considered. Some p.m. hours are required. E.O.E, Submit resume to Vickie at vickieg@mybirthtofive.org by 4/27/16.
